Posture and Pain
Posture and pain is the most significant aspect of care at eastwest physiotherapy.
Consider the following quote:
“You have received a body. You may like it or hate it, but it is yours for your entire life. You can ignore your body’s imbalances, or you can get on top of them. We’re here to help.”
Posture is a complex state of balance, it’s dynamic and plastic.
At eastwest we have studied posture from many different angles. It is apparent that the nervous system creates the posture and the myofascial system cements it.
Our approach is to Release, Restore and Retrain. The order is important and the detail of the physical examination is what makes success in helping our patients regain control of their problems.
We work within a multidisciplinary team of Doctors, Surgeons, Dentists, Chiropractors, Pedorthists, Radiologists and Body workers.
Postural examination is a combination of digital, photographic and a clinical skill called Body Reading. Priorities and strategy is created in this phase prior to the start of each body work session.
Our clients love this holistic approach to our care model and often receive freedom of movement and reduction in chronic symptoms in relatively short periods of time.
