What is TPI?
TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) is the world’s leading educational organisation dedicated to studying how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing.
For over twenty years, TPI has gathered the world’s largest technical database of the game’s top Tour professionals and everyday golfers.
TPI collects 3D motion capture, force, pressure, launch monitor, strength, power, and movement data on every player that visits the TPI campus. Using this data, TPI discovered how a properly functioning body allows a player to swing a golf club most efficiently.
Conversely, TPI determined how physical limitations in a player’s body can adversely affect the golf swing and potentially lead to injury. This relationship is what TPI calls “the Body-Swing Connection” and is the foundation of all professional certification courses offered by TPI.
Our golf physios in Sydney will utilise this methodology to assess your golf swing and create a tailored plan to improve your game on the golf course. Book a TPI golf assessment online today.

TPI’s Assessment Screen
To achieve an efficient swing, a golfer must first be screened. A proper screen involves a physical assessment of swing mechanics, biomechanics, fitness, movement quality, current health, and injury history.
The TPI movement screen is a simple test to quickly evaluate a player’s physical capabilities. The assessment results are used to determine how technical elements of the player’s swing could be related to what their body can or cannot do.
Once this screen is finished, the results are used to create the golfer’s plan, including fitness and golf strength training, physical therapy and treatment, coaching of swing mechanics and biomechanics, nutrition, mental strategy, or all of the above.

What’s next with our golf physios in Sydney?
1. Comprehensive Strength Assessment
Your journey starts with an initial appointment with either Gav Johnston or Damien Larkin, our TPI-certified golf physiotherapists. You’ll undergo a full-body assessment to understand your physical performance and areas for improvement.
2. Golf Swing Analysis
We’ll video-analyse your golf swing using performance-measuring equipment. This will help us pinpoint specific movements that may need adjustment.
3. Personalised Exercise Program
Based on your assessment, an individualised exercise program will be created to improve your golf play without injury.
If we identify any injuries that could limit your progress or physical fitness, we’ll ensure you receive the appropriate treatment—whether within our clinic or by referring you to the right medical professional.
Your exercise program will be easily accessible through your MyTPI app account. If you’re already working with a TPI-certified golf coach and have completed their own physical assessment of your swing, they can also add exercises to your training plan.
4. MyTPI App Setup
Download the MyTPI app from the App Store or Google PlayStore, and create your account to access your fitness training plan.
